The sports and health tourism experienced a great growth the past years. These effects have also impact on the tourism services. Sport and health are booming, and tourism institutions have recognized the growing market. Concerning the infrastructure, lots of the hotels are very high quality and updated. However, the related staff responsible for the health and sports parts are weak. It is well known, that high quality knowledge is needed for high quality health and sports tourism. Missing quality of staff members especially in the domain of health in tourism companies is common. The FFG funded project aims to provide evidence-based knowledge for health and sports tourism in both sports science and computer science. Alexander Hörbst and Marco Schweitzer lead the work packages for the modules concerning digitalization in tourism.
In several workshops, they teach current application-oriented knowledge for hotels in the fields of security, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, analysis/evaluation of mobile apps and process analysis in order to seamlessly integrate and use possible eHealth applications in the processes of sports and health tourism.
