Center for Statistical Consulting and Continuing Education
The quantitative methods used in the subjects of statistics and epidemiology are considered by many to be "hard" subjects. The difficulties often come from the fact that these subjects are taught in a very theoretical way. The Center for Statistical Consulting and Continuing Education (CSCCE) at UMIT TIROL offers the opportunity to learn the subject matter of statistical and epidemiological methods in a practical way and with appropriate didactic tools through certificate courses.
The Curriculum:
The certificate courses consist of two- and three-day courses. The courses are offered in the second half of the week (Fri-Sat, Thu-Sat), and on request (also) as a weekend event.
Admission Requirements:
None, however, depending on the subject area, there are required previous knowledge.
Target Groups:
(a) Students of UMIT TIROL and other universities who want to deepen their knowledge in the subjects of statistics and epidemiology, e.g. in the phase of exam preparation,
(b) Students who want to learn the statistical and/or epidemiological methods to be applied in the context of their final thesis,
(c) Physicians and members of other health professions who want to acquire statistical and/or epidemiological knowledge in special subject areas in particular depth in order to achieve meaningful results in projects,
(d) employees of private and public organisations who need expertise in the application of quantitative methods,
(e) other persons interested in the fields of biostatistics and epidemiology.
