Accreditation and Quality Assurance

The university programmes offered by UMIT TIROL are quality assured and internationally comparable
The university programmes, research performance and the university as a whole are subject to the strict quality regulations of the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria (AQ Austria), which is responsible for quality assurance at Austrian universities. These quality criteria are derived from the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ESG) and are regularly reviewed by international experts appointed by AQ Austria. The academic degrees awarded by the Tyrolean private university UMIT TIROL are comparable throughout the European Union.

The courses at the Tyrolean private university UMIT TIROL have been awarded the AQ Austria seal of quality. This seal of quality may only be used by accredited Austrian private universities. The seal demonstrates the legal status achieved through accreditation and the high quality standard guaranteed by the strict official accreditation procedure, which is based on international standards.

The Master's programme in Medical Informatics was the first programme ever to receive international accreditation from the European Federation of Medical Informatics, the European professional association for medical informatics.

The university course in Health Information Management was awarded the eLearning Award in the ‘Social Learning’ category. The jury of the eLearning Journal thus recognised the didactic concept developed by UMIT TIROL University for the university course.

The Master's programme in Public Health emphasises its international comparability by basing its curriculum on the training recommendations of the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Regions (ASPHER).
