Programme entry

Entry into one of the seven doctoral programmes (Dr. phil.) at the Tyrolean Private University UMIT TIROL is possible at any time and involves the following steps:

Step 1: Application for review of the admission requirements

The relevant Doctorate Committee reviews your application to decide whether you fulfil the formal admission requirements for the desired doctoral programme. The admission requirements are laid out in the latest Doctorate Regulations. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require counselling and advice at this stage. The Doctorate Committee will inform you of its decision by e-mail as soon as possible. You may move on to Step 2 only if the committee approves your application.  

Step 2: Choice of research topic and academic supervisor

You must find a supervisor for your research topic. For your application for acceptance as a doctoral candidate (Step 3), you will need to complete a thesis contract with your supervisor. This agreement will also stipulate the research topic and the desired doctoral programme.

Step 3: Application for acceptance as a doctoral candidate

The Doctorate Committee reviews your application for acceptance as a doctoral candidate. Receipt of our Letter of Acceptance confirms the educational contract and your acceptance in the desired doctoral programme at the Tyrolean Private University UMIT TIROL. Congratulations!
