The legal entity of the Tyrolean private university UMIT TIROL is "UMIT - Private University For Health Sciences and Health Technology (short UMIT TIROL GmbH), which is 90% owned by the state of Tyrol and 10% by the Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck (LFUI).
The organs of this company are the general assembly, the supervisory board and two managing directors, who also act as rector and vice-rector of the University UMIT TIROL.

The highest bodies of the university are the Scientific Advisory Council, the Rectorate and the Senate.
