Founded in May, 2004 it focuses on teaching, research and consulting in the areas of:

  • Management of healthcare systems as well as their single entities

  • Socio-economic evaluation of health services and healthcare structures

  • Financing of healthcare systems

The Institute for Management and Economics in Healthcare has its core mission in providing research, teaching and consulting in health services management, evaluation of socio-economic issues in health systems and also in (behavioral) economics applied to the health sector.

The core areas in research, teaching and knowledge transfer are:

  • Health Services Research

  • Hospital Management

  • Quality assurance in Healthcare

  • (Workplace) Health Promotion

  • Economic Analysis of Health Behavior
