Erasmus-Charta 2021 - 2027
1) Erasmus+ Incoming (to Tyrol)
If you have questions about the Erasmus+ programme, please contact the UMIT TIROL International Office.
As soon as you have been officially nominated by your home university for an Erasmus+ stay, you can fill in the UMIT TIROL application form and send it to the International office at christa.ramnek@umit-tirol.at or erasmus@umit-tirol.at together with your CV, a copy of an official photo ID (Passport or equivalent document), your Learning Agreement and (if possible) a Transcript of Records from your university.

2) Erasmus+ Outgoing (going abroad)
Benefit from Erasmus+ mobility for a lifetime! Are you interested in foreign countries, cultures and languages? A stay abroad during your studies is a special experience and can enrich your career path and personal development.
 
Advantages of the Erasmus+programme: 
- a stay of up to 12 months in each cycle (Bachelor, Master, Doctorate) for study or internship purposes (minimum 2 months)
- no tuition fees at the host university
- a monthly grant towards increased living costs
- recognition of positive achievements abroad
- expansion of your language skills and much more ...

Erasmus+ inclusion support / top-up for students with fewer opportunities

Erasmus+ participants who face obstacles (e.g. disability or chronic illness, etc.) can apply for a special Erasmus+ grant in addition to the regular Erasmus+mobility grant for study or internship stays of for teaching or further education stays abroad.

When preparing your Erasmus+ sty, we ask you to inform us of your situation and to estimate the additional costs that are likely to be incurred during your Erasmus+ mobility or in the host country. The need must be clearly justified and the costs approved by the Nationa Agency.

3) Erasmus+ Teaching mobility
Teaching staff at universities have the opportunity to take part in subsidised teaching activities abroad. The stay must comprise at least two days (plus 8 hours of teaching) and can last a maximum of two months. Staff from foreign companies can also be invited to teach at the university.

4) Erasmus+ traineeship
The Programme Erasmus+ also offers traineeships for students at higher education institutions. Within the EU, students at higher education institutions will receive grants for traineeships abroad.
 
Students spend a period of time (2 to 12 months) in private or public organisation active in the labour market or in the fields of education, training and youth. In addition, they must be suitable for enabling students to achieve the learning success agreed in the Learning Agreement by providing appropriate opportunities. Host organisations are excluded from this:  European Union institutions and organisations that manage EU programmes.
 
Traineeships should be study-related and should be a valuable addition to your academic studies!

5) Policy Statement
 
Internationalisation is an important pillar of the private university UMIT TIROL. Networking with international universities and research institutions is essential for a modern, forward-looking university. Students, researchers, lecturers and administrative staff benefit from each other in a variety of ways through exchange within the international community. Accordingly, UMIT TIROL is clearly committed to openness, cultural diversity, diversity and equal opportunities and participates in the Diversity Charter.
 
 
6) ECTS-Credit information
 
ECTS makes programmes and qualifications within Europe more transparent and facilitates the recognition of qualifications. The system allows for the transfer of learning experiences between different institutions. Greater student mobility and more flexible ways to obtain degrees. It contributes to curriculum design and quality assurance.
 
Without exception, the Tyrolean Private University UMIT TIROL courses and their workloads are described in ECTS credits, whereby 1 ECTS credit is equivalent to 25 hours of study (à 60 minutes). Accordingly, students take a maximum of 30 ECTS credits per semester or max. 60 ECTS credits per academic year.
 
The workload includes all activities students need to fulfil in order to achieve the expected learning outcome, in particular:
 
- Participation in classes (contact hours), whereby one teaching unit (UE) is 45 minutes
- Individual self-study, i.e. hours spent by students on activities not guided by teaching staff (e.g. preparation and follow-up, individual practicing)
- Guided independent study, self-organised learning in order to fulfil given assignments (e.g.: seminar work, internship, composing a written work, etc.)
- Exam preparation
- Taking an examination, provided that this period of time is not part of the contact hours
 ECTS credits are awarded to students only upon successful completion of the respective examinations.
