Das Institut für Medizinische Informatik der UMIT TIROL arbeitet in folgenden Forschungsbereichen: 

Evidenzbasierte Medizinische Informatik

Entwicklung und Anwendung qualitativer und quantitativer Methoden zur Evaluation von Gesundheitsinformationssystemen; Erstellung von Leitlinien und Standards für Evaluationsverfahren; Durchführung systematischer Reviews und Meta-Analysen zu Wirkungen von Health-IT; Planung und Umsetzung empirischer Evaluationsstudien; Entwicklung von Taxonomien und Einsatz von Logic Models zur Analyse und Abbildung komplexer IT-Interventionen im Gesundheitswesen.

Patient Empowerment

Entwicklung, Implementierung und Evaluation von Lösungen für Patient*innen wie z.B. mHealth und Patient*innenportale; Förderung von Patient Empowerment durch Patient*innenportale, mobile Anwendungen und digitale Beteiligungslösungen in Prävention, Therapie und Nachsorge; Weiterentwicklung von Akzeptanzmodellen sowie Theory of Change-Modellen für patient*innenzentrierte Anwendungen.

Medizinische Informatik in Lehre und Training
