The Department of Nursing Science and Gerontology at UMIT TIROL was very pleased to welcome Barış Kılıç and Ezgi Pektaş, PhD students at the Department of Gerontology at Akdeniz University (Turkey), in the frame of Erasmus+ internship mobility program. Barış Kılıç is also working as a research assistant at the same department, while Ezgi Pektaş is a research assistant at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Department of Gerontology. Both of them have backgrounds in physiotherapy and gerontology and in their recent academic work they have been focusing on digital literacy, artificial intelligence, technology, and e-health in the context of ageing.
Barış Kılıç is here for two months as part of the Erasmus+ internship mobility program. It is actually his second time at UMIT TIROL, which makes this stay feel like returning to a familiar and inspiring environment. For Ezgi Pektaş it is the first time in Tyrol and she was excited to discover the department, the academic atmosphere and everyday's life in Hall.
"We were both very pleased to experience how warmly we were welcomed, whether in the offices, during discussions with colleagues or even in the many small moments of support and kindness we encountered. We believe that collaborations between universities from different countries are of great importance for young researchers like us. They allow us to share perspectives, learn from each other and grow both, personally and professionally. These experiences also motivate us to think more creatively about our research and the future of gerontology. We are truly grateful for this opportunity and for all the generosity shown to us. Thank you for making us feel part of your community; it has been both an enriching and a heartwarming experience." is Barış pleased to confirm.
On behalf of the institute, we would like to express our sincere thanks for this productive and valuable period of cooperation. You are always very welcome at UMIT TIROL.
The team led by the Chair of the Institute, Gerhard Müller, warmly thanks Barış Kılıç and Ezgi Pektaş for the valuable scientific exchange and the many inspiring conversations. Your contribution not only opened up new perspectives but also enriched the interdisciplinary dialogue. We greatly appreciate the openness with which ideas were shared, as well as the suggestions that will inspire our future work. For this enriching collaboration, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and look forward to continuing this dialogue in the future.
