Graduation

Each doctoral programme Dr. phil. comprises a workload of 180 ECTS credits. The exit requirements consist of a written doctoral thesis and an oral defence as well as the successful completion of lectures totalling 50 ECTS credits. An examination on the research concept must be completed within three semesters. The results of the doctoral thesis are to be published in a relevant journal.

After successful completion of the necessary requirements, the candidate is awarded the academic degree “Doctor of Philosophy” (Dr. phil.) for the respective doctoral programme.
