Research projects currently being implemented or planned for the near future in the individual research areas of the institute are:

 

(A) QUALITY AND RISK MANAGEMENT AT ORGANISATIONAL AND SYSTEM LEVEL: 

Patient safety culture in public hospitals in Tyrol
(completed 2019)
The aims of the research project are the assessment of the patient safety culture in Tyrolean hospitals through a standardized and validated survey and the evaluation of influencing factors such as the introduction of a CIRS, a clinical risk management system, or a quality management system.
Part 1: Evaluation of the Austrian Inpatient Quality Indicators (A-IQI) System for quality assurance with clinical routine data
Part 2: Implementation of a standardized survey (adapted for the Austrian/Tyrolean healthcare context) based on the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture - HSOPSC.

(B) HEALTH SERVICES RESEARCH:

Medical care in nursing homes in Tyrol
The aims of the research project are the assessment of the current state of medical care provided to residents in the Tyrolean nursing homes as well as the development and testing of new care models.
In cooperation with the Institute of Nursing Science and the Institute of Public Health, Medical Decision Making and HTA.
